The Simpson family has been in the equipment business for over 50 years. Steve's late father, Dan 'Suitcase' Simpson, was the inspiration to him in the early days as he ventured into the iron business. Over those five decades, there has been a driving desire to make transactions more simple for customers.
Steve had the great fortune of being mentored by Dave Ritchie, and several of the other founding partners of Ritchie Brothers Auctioneers when he started his career with the company in 1990 in Vancouver.
His career path ultimately brought him to Brisbane, Australia in 1995. Overseeing Australia, New Zealand, and South East Asia, Steve was instrumental in growing Australia from a frontier market into an established, self-sustaining business.
Seven years passed, and Steve returned to North America and took on the responsibility of the southwestern United States, first as Divisional Manager, and then as Senior Vice President of US West.
In 2012, Steve was promoted to Chief Sales Officer and was responsible for worldwide sales. He was an inspirational leader for the sales team and had the opportunity to work with the industry's best and brightest.
He was an exemplary student of Dave Ritchie's business savvy and relationship philosophy, and decided it was time to branch out and build a business where customers interacted with him directly, and where he could deliver on promises himself.
Today, the opportunities and customer relationships Steve has formed worldwide have become a driving force behind the launch of Simpson & Sons Trading. His passion for the equipment business, in conjunction with his excellent reputation, integrity, and market knowledge, has driven his desire to create a more personalized and stress-free experience for his customers. He has an unmatched drive to oversee successful, mutually beneficial transactions from start to finish. Our mission is to make it easy for customers to do business with Simpson & Sons Trading.
